Alright food friends, If you like Pizza and blogs I have the post for you. This is the newest addition to my favorite Blue Apron Meals.
Smoked Mozzarella & Cabbage Pizza
The official Blue Apron Description is:
This rustic white pizza takes inspiration from the cuisine of Alsace, a region that shares French and German culinary influences. The duo of smoked mozzarella (which gets its amazing depth of flavor from the smoke of aromatic wood) and sweet sautéed cabbage makes for a hearty, satisfying topping perfectly suited for crisp autumn weather. Our side salad of crunchy romaine and juicy slices of apple brings refreshing balance to the pizza’s rich, smoky flavors.
This is a super easy Blue Apron meal to make; you basically cook some cabbage with garlic, cappers, and red pepper flakes in a bit of olive oil, put that on the pizza dough with the smoked mozzarella cheese and bake. This dish also puts a side salad with romaine and apples with an apple vinaigrette dressing. Everything about this is delicious.
Just a couple of tip when making this dish, the dough should be close to room temp when you start to flatten it out, so you will want to pull that out of the fridge 20 minutes before everything else to get that warming up, I actually put the dough on top of the stove when I was preheating the oven so I could take advantage of the exhaust heat from the oven to warm up the dough a little quicker. Also there wasn’t very much apple cider vinegar that came with the kit so I added some of my own to double the recipe.
The whole meal was made in about 35 minutes start to finish, it has very minimal ingredients so it doesn’t take long, I think pealing the Garlic took the longest time besides baking the pizza. The smoked mozzarella adds meatiness to the dish but doesn’t over power the pizza. I did add some fresh cherry tomatoes from my garden on the side to use as topping on the pizza or the salad.
If you don’t have Blue Apron I recommend it. I like the fact that the food is delivered to me saving time so I don’t have to go to the store and think about what to buy, I don’t have to worry about what to make or how to make it, all that comes in the box.
